This piece potrays how praying enables us to transform, praying despite religious views or the lack of them. This piece describes the way we feel towards our beliefs and how our beliefs become part of us.

The traditional Tanzanian kanga at the background of Pray was chosen by chance. As I was looking for something to put on the background of my painting, I found this fabric from my closet. My friend had brought it to me years ago from Africa and I had never used it for anything. I thought the pattern suited my idea. Then I noticed the small text at the bottom... I did some research and I found the meaning of the sentence which is in Swahili. I felt I had to let the first word show - it means God.

Pray gave me the idea to do the Wonder Women -– the WAU Project, and now it emphasizes the message of the whole series. It said on it "Mungu hamtupi kiumbe chake" - God doesn't abandon his creatures. This message is easily translated into a universal thought - everyone is as worthy.

The original print hasn't got the watermark as the example photo.
